december

am i averaging roughly 1 post a month these days, or what?!

kids are good.  cooper had an endoscopy done this week and his esoniphilic esophigitis (i probably just spelt that all wrong!) has reared its ugly head so he will be started back on oral steroids and will get scoped again in a month.  once again, he was a champ at the surgery center and wowed the nurses and staff with his upbeat mood.  he did ask everyone, and i do mean everyone, that he saw if he was going to get a shot.  after they put his to sleep, they put in a i.v. but he didn't notice.  he was more worried about the bright red light on his finger which was the pulse ox machine.  once he woke up and got the wires out, he was ready to blow that joint and get some mcdonalds.  and he deserved it (especially after having to be on a liquid diet the day before).  he was a happy, happy boy!

madelyn got a hair cut a couple of weeks ago and she looks more grown up than ever and NEVER wants her hair fixed.  is it too early for me to give up on that battle?!  half the time, since her haircut, i don't even fight with her.  if she wants to have it hanging in her face, dangling in her food, and being dragged through glue on her art projects, then so be it.  sometimes i feel like she is reaching the teenage years at 5 years old and i'm scared for when she gets any older!

she is, i think, starting the beginning stages of reading.  she wants to know how to spell everything and she is sounding out words and doing word finds on her own.  she spends a lot of time coloring, singing, and playing on the ipad.  i think she can work that thing better than me...in fact i know she can!  cooper isn't far behind her.  by the time i actually get a turn on the thing, it needs to be plugged back in because the battery is run down.  kids!

our elf, joey, showed back up last week.  maddie has had to talk to him twice about naughty things she has done and she is terrified of telling him.  i guess having such a close tie to santa will do it to a young child!  cooper talks to joey like a friend and likes to mention to joey what he wants for christmas.  i have to keep reminding him that he should focus on staying on the "nice" list and we can worry about gifts later!  christmas time with kids is so much fun...makes me feel like a kid again, myself!
