I got up in the middle of the night last night to use the restroom and stepped on Madelyn. She was sleeping on the floor next to our bed. This was at 3:00 am. I found her hiding in the kitchen last night at 9:30 pm crying softly. This was just last night. Every evening it seems to be a different time and a different place that she pops up. You are probably asking yourself the same thing we ask her..."why" and "what's wrong?"
A few weeks back Madelyn's smoke alarm was beeping in the middle of the night because it needed a new battery. Ever since then, she is scared of her room, cries almost every night when we put her down, and she is afraid of the fire alarm and the red light that flashes on it. When we ask her what's wrong she says "I'm scared of my room" Any suggestions on what to do to help resolve this situation?
It doesn't bother me that she fell asleep in the middle of the floor...I did the same thing as a child and my parents didn't seem to have much a problem with it (that I can remember!) What is hard is that she cries almost every night...she does not like her room. We aren't sure what to do at this point? HELP!
